Centers

The Magnetic Resonance Research Center (MRRC) and the Positron Emission Tomography Center (PET) are two centers for imaging excellence within the University. These centers provide facilities and support for a wide range of basic scientists and clinician scientists throughout both the medical school and the main campus.

Magnetic Resonance Research Center

The Yale Magnetic Resonance Research Center (MRRC) was founded in 1986 as a result of the recognition that NMR applications, as pioneered by Yale scientists, have enormous potential in biomedical research. The MRRC is now an interdepartmental and interdisciplinary research laboratory that provides state-of-the-art MR equipment, infrastructure and expertise for the development and application of MRI and MRS methodology in biomedical research. Positron Emission Tomography Center

In 2004, Yale University broke ground for a new, state-of-the-art Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Research Center dedicated to providing the highest quality of nuclear imaging research. Located on Howard Avenue in New Haven, in close proximity to other Yale School of Medicine departments, this impressive, 22,000 sq. ft. facility has been established to advance the interests of Yale clinicians, scientists, and students in molecular imaging research.
